Janet Simmons Sweet's Studio, number 204, is at the top of the red stairs in the Alton Mill Arts Centre.

The Studio is open selectively to the public throughout the year. All artwork in her Studio is for sale. All of her artworks are oil on canvas, and professionally framed. Available artworks are listed on this website under "Artworks Currently for sale" (roll over the image for details). However, Janet also exhibits extensively in Public and Private Galleries in juried, group, and solo exhibits. As a result, artworks found on this website may be in several locations at any given time.

Appointments are highly encouraged to ensure the artwork you see, is in Studio.

Please use the "Contact" page for this purpose.

The artworks are impressionistic in style, and often pushed to realism or pulled to abstraction. Dramatic light is her signature. Canvas is used exclusively for a base of texture, often enhanced with various mediums. Her artworks vary in size and price for a wide demographic. A comprehensive description of Janet's style, inspirations, exhibiting history, awards, and publications, can be found on the "Biography" page. Previous years available on request.

Janet is recognized for her artwork painted in Collections and exhibited in Solo Exhibitions. One concept, location or time frame, may be delivered by using multiple canvases to symbolically deliver one idea. The artwork is painted, and installed, in a specific order. The canvases transition from one to the next, and the Collection viewed in its entirety tells the story. She is an emotional painter with the concept/subject matter having a personal connection and meaning. Selections from Collections can be found in the Studio.
